Amanda Fisher
My creativity flourishes in the predawn hours. Often waking me up, demanding to be caught on paper. I begin with watercolors, blending and moving with the flow of the water. Then move toward the more defined boundaries of acrylic. Gels, glosses and mediums to temper the flow and add layers of transparency. Each one has elements of memories, shards of emotion riddled throughout. I’m profoundly affected by the raw beauty of the Pacific Northwest, and the flow of the salt water, the moss on the trees, the wind whipping across the peaks all have impact in my work.
Creativity has been an important aspect of Amanda’s life. She strives to light the world with art, inspiring people to find connection and joy.
Amanda’s acrylics and watercolors have been featured locally at The Artworks Gallery in Langley, WA. Her clothing line can be purchased at The Blue Peony in Langley, Washington. This summer (June 15-17 2022) she was featured in the international Squarefoot Show, also a part of the American Watercolor Society Summer 2022 show, has shown at the Ida Culver House in Ravenna, Seattle, and the Bellevue Gardens in Bellevue Washington.
You can often find Amanda volunteering in her community. Most recently creating the backdrop scene for the Whidbey Children’s Theatre latest production of the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
